» A successful relocation is essential for both employees and company. Relocation and re-entry is a major transition in people’s lives.

» People who relocate normally experience an inner conflict between wishing to maintain their own culture, values and familiar habits, and embracing a new way of life and new experiences. Coupled with this there is concern for their family, those they are planning to take with them and those that stay behind.

» Research into relocation failures has identified that potential expatriates benefit from advance preparation, an opportunity to channel their worries and concerns up front and re-frame their assumptions.

Three Tier Coaching Programme

Gold Relocation Transition Coaching

This confidential service is offered for senior executives and their families who are relocating and will cover both home and work issues. They will work in partnership with Keren Smedley, Managing Director of Experience Matters throughout the relocation process from the initial discussions until they are fully repatriated and re engaged in their work and home lives.

Silver Relocation Transition Coaching

This service is offered for middle managers or junior executives who are relocating.

The topics offered include: –

» Managing change and transaction in the workplace.

» Managing stress, both work and home related.

» Preparation for the move for the individual and spouse.

» Coping with the concerns raised by the individual and spouse.

» Strategies to manage changes in lifestyle.

» Strategies to cope with loneliness and unfamiliarity.

» Strategies to make new relationships and friends.

» Preparation for re-entry and repatriation.

» Support through re entry and repatriation.

Bronze Relocation Transition Coaching

This service is offered for those that need less support, often single people relocating and is run by an Experience Matters coach.

This coaching programme includes two half-day workshops and additional coaching sessions, pre relocation and post relocation.

The topics offered include: –

» Managing change and transition in the workplace.

» Managing stress, both work and home related.

» Strategies to manage changes in lifestyle.

» Strategies to cope with loneliness and unfamiliarity.

» Strategies to make new relationships and friends.

» Preparation for re-entry and repatriation.

Relocation Workshops

Pre-Relocation workshop

By the end of the workshop individuals will have had the opportunity to: –

» Look at themselves and their motivators and explored whether relocation is for them and their family.

» Understand issues that might be raised by family members (both for those going and those left behind).

» Learn strategies to manage conflict and to negotiate difficult situations.

» Look at the information and resources they need to be able to make informed decisions.

» Examine their work/life style, options, interests and identify any personal development needed to make this a success.

Re-entry workshop

By the end of this workshop individuals will have had the opportunity to: –

» Discuss how they feel about returning and the issues this has raised.

» Look at how to re-enter the old world with their new experiences and examine how to integrate their experience into the work environment and social culture they have rejoined.

» Explore their new goals and how to achieve these.

» Capitalise on their experience and use it to achieve further success.
